Would I encounter problems using the adhesive intended for ceramic tiles to lay a porcelain tile floor?

I paid the first payment of $2500 before they started the job and another $2000 after the job was finished. The last payment was made 3 weeks ago. I recieved a nasty e-mail from the guys wife all mad because I still owe $375 which was agreed on that I would make payments. She falsley accused me of not paying him in months and how this debt would ruin a friendship and how he wouldn’t do any more projects on my house. In your opionion did she have the right to send me the e-mail when I owe her husband the $$ not her? The $375 was over the estimated cost thats why I didn’t have it.
