My home is old and it needs a lot of work. However, I am on a fixed budget, and I need a contractor who can do anything from drywall, painting, yard work and plumbing, etc. To get a contractor to do work in the Washington, DC area is hard, because certain parts of DC has a lot of historical site laws which can place lot of restrictions on home owners and contractors. I need help before my old house becomes a serious problem.

I have an old house that needs a lot of repair work. I have to do it by myself because of the budget. However, I have not any basic ideas of doing such work. The Penn Foster provides the program to teach you how to do the home repair from the scratch. However, I doubt if it works by learning online because such kind of training needs a lot of practice and mentoering. Did anyone take this program before? How about it? Any reply is appreciated.

What is involved in hanging dry wall?

cutetrio2002 asked:

My husband and I are buying our first house. Neither of us are experienced in any kind of home repair. The house is beautiful but has wood paneling throughout. We want to take it down and hang dry wall but don’t know what is involved or what the cost would be. Is this something we should hire someone to do or is it a fairly easy project? Our budget is tight so we want to try to learn how to do some of it ourselves but also don’t want to do more harm then good.
