Garage door is now being used manually. The problem was the garage door was going up and down when you tried to use the remote. I sprayed it with WD40 and wanted to know when you pull the rope to activate it manually, si there anything I need to do to use it with the remote? Or does by opening it manually put it back on track….thanks!

Just use the remote, it should re-engage and start working.
try a new battery in remote
Maybe I’m misunderstanding you but the garage door is supposed to go up and down when you use the remote.
I use to have the same problem I’d have to get out of the car click the remote and put my hand under it with light pressure to keep it going and then the chain broke so now I have a new one.
I think the reason it is doing that is because somewhere there is resistance and the safety mech. is working. The rail may be bent slightly or you have something in the way that the door is running into when it tries to shut.
Does it try to shut but then somewhere along the way it goes back up?
There is a sensitivity dial usually up on the unit you might want to back it up a bit after you check for items that it may be hitting.
One time we had a extention cord running out the door and it messed the door up. We had to reduce the sensitivity knob!
Hope this helps!
It sounds like your door is really fine and that it is doing what it is supposed to do when things get in the way.
Also try shutting the power suppy off for 20 minutes and then turning it back on. That might reset something along the way as well.
I guess if you don’t want it to go up & down when you use the remote you can remove the batteries.
It will go back on the arm that moves it. Just cycle the door opener with the door up and it will latch back together.
South Exit door Blocked open, using tape. Using Scotch tape to prevent it from closeing and Locking.
