You and your landlord need to have a discussion about it to make sure you’re on the same page as to what’s major and what’s minor. It might cost the same to paint a room as to install a new faucet if you do the labour, but your landlord might prefer to have a real plumber do the faucet.
tough question. painting would be considered minor but it could cost over $100.00 to paint. on the other hand wiring a 3 way switch costs about $25.00 in materials but the labor required is at a much higher skill level. cost isn’t the only issue.
if you ask me your landlord is a lazy idiot. basically what he’s saying is; if any thing breaks i’m not going to fix it, you can.
