If it is steel pipe you can get a coupler and whatever length of pipe ****** you need and use pipe compound or teflon tape. to get required length. Or pretty much same thing on PVC using glue and primer instead.
Well, you may have to go back to the hardware store, where you got the new spout, and ask them about extending the pipe supporting the spout, due to not being able to safely unscrew the old pipe from the wall without breaking it. If it is sticking out past the tub, you should be able to get a pipe wrench on it and unscrew it, but do NOT use pliers of any kind. You need to use a properly adjusted pipe wrench for the job. Good luck. Rock
If you can safely get heat on the thread area with a propane torch, I would try that. And a monkey wrench(pipe wrench). Oh, if you are talking about the chrome spout, look on the underside and you will see a small hole. An allen key goes up there to loosen a set screw(maybe the reason you can’t turn it if that is what you are trying to undo. 1/8″ most likely for the allen key. And everything just pulls apart.
You can by flexible pipes in both copper or pvc with compression fittings one end and a tap connector on the other. It is simply a case of cut the old pipe make sure it is free of paint and corrosion slide the coupler nut down the pipe fit the olive and ***** on the flexible.
If space is too tight to get spanners in they come with push fit ends as well
spary some wd 40 inside the pipe and let it sit for about an hour ………………..it will come out
mine is solderd to the pipe(original installation) ,,, are you sure yours is not?
