Some of it I have found is the nature of doing repairs on the home. They tend to "grow". You go to replace a seal in a leaky faucet and find the faucet seat or faucet is bad and have to replace the faucet only to find out the faucet is on a rusted out pipe that has been dripping and the wood is rotting out. Then before you know it your little rubber seal is a huge hole in the floor in the kitchen and you need a new cabinet. lol. But that wasn't your fault. It may not exactly be “you”. My husband is a car mechanic by trade, but I have a hard time with him working on the house. We tend to have a professional come in and do the nice stuff (drywall mudding, painting) and the dangerous stuff (i.e electrical/plumbing). Otherwise, I wish he'd just stick to cars. There just seem to be two different kinds of people. One's that are great with wood, and others that are great with metal. You are definately not the only one.
