That’s ok maybe you have mechanical talents, the guy that builds houses needs guys like you to keep his truck running we all need each other.
sigh i wish you were you wouldn’t believe how often I’m called in after a homeowner has attempted repairs themselves then they get mad when i need to charge extra for labor that they messed up working on cars and houses are two way different mind sets different tools way different work skills knowing your materials etc just remember nobody has every skill some are good at office work some are good with their hands if ya want to get better buy some home repair manuals take a couple of classes at hd and keep in mind Murphy’s law
My wife has told me that before.I keep at it and have never had to oustource any repair other than a new roof.Everything looks and works great.Good luck.
You are definately not the only one. My husband is a car mechanic by trade, but I have a hard time with him working on the house. We tend to have a professional come in and do the nice stuff (drywall mudding, painting) and the dangerous stuff (i.e electrical/plumbing). Otherwise, I wish he’d just stick to cars. There just seem to be two different kinds of people. One’s that are great with wood, and others that are great with metal.
It may not exactly be “you”. Some of it I have found is the nature of doing repairs on the home. They tend to “grow”. You go to replace a seal in a leaky faucet and find the faucet seat or faucet is bad and have to replace the faucet only to find out the faucet is on a rusted out pipe that has been dripping and the wood is rotting out.
Then before you know it your little rubber seal is a huge hole in the floor in the kitchen and you need a new cabinet. lol.
But that wasn’t your fault.
