Just had a rock put a small chip in my windshield. I am looking for something I could do to prevent it from sending out the spiderweb cracks. I think I have heard about using some type of glue.

There might be a home repair but even good detail shops do theese repairs now days.It is very low in cost.I would allow someone else to do it,insurance usually covers it.Can always just take it to a place that does automotive glass! They heat up the glass and it melts slightly so the ***** can’t continue.

Auto parts stores carry a clear glue, but I believe that this is cosmetic, not structural and won’t prevent a ***** from propagating.
If the chip is small, you should mark the glass on where it is and note if it the ***** progresses. For the most part, small chips won’t do any harm.

There are home fix-its, but if you have liability insurance, most insurance companies will pay to have the chip fixed by a professional for free. The most you should spend is $40, but the kit to do a half-baked job costs that much. Seek out the pros that do this everyday.
